Present

In the zone.

Too engaged to be on the phone

Texting stupid pictures,

Asking stupid questions

But choosing rather, to be present.

There is little worse than being in two places at once

And it seems our technology has allowed us that debilitating luxury.

Connected everywhere

But rarely ever makimg meaningful connections.

Its like finding yourself in the arms of one you do not love

A deception to the both of you,

Yet you continue,

Entwined

In each’s others absence

For where the heart is not

The man is not.

So why pretend to be there in the first place?
