Adjustments

Are not excuses.

They put us us in a better position

To fulfil our commitments.

An adjustment is about a change in posture

Not a change of mind,

A shifting in your seat

Not getting up and leaving.

A vantage point

Not an exit point.

We will (or at least should) be held accountable for

Our promises to the people we serve and love.

And so, when “life happens”

And maybe we get tired

Maybe we aren’t making as much money as we hoped we would

Maybe we’d rather be sleeping

Or maybe we just don’t feel like it-

Still we find a way to honour our promises.

Because promises are made especially for the times

When we don’t feel like keeping them.

So, rather than looking for reasons to quit;

Adjust.
