Fortune favors the brave?

It depends on what you mean by
Bravery.
If you mean throwing caution to the wind
Making self-gratifying yet shortsighted decisions
Inflating benefits and downplaying risks,
Telling blatant lies to get ahead
Wielding privilege like weapon-
The world may reward this behavior
But it certainly isn’t brave.
Swallowing your pride and saying sorry first,
Relentlessly choosing to be generous
When chances are high you’ll be misunderstood,
Taking a chance on someone
Who everyone else overlooks
Speaking up about an unpopular opinion-
You may never get a standing ovation
For doing these things,
But you are far more likely
To make things better for everyone,
And that’s a fortune
That’s always in short supply.
