Sometimes it’s not that you’re a bad swimmer-
You’ve landed yourself in choppy waters.
Sometimes the water will be colder than you expected-
Swim fast to keep warm.
Sometimes your arms and legs will get tired-
Take a break. This is not a race.
Sometimes you’ll just tread water and stay in the same spot-
You could use the exercise. Keep paddling.
Sometimes you make a little progress but not as much as you’d like-
Savor every little victory. Swimming is hard.
Sometimes no one’s going to give you directions-
You’re the first one in the pool.
