Jingle Bells?

Christmas feels different
When the people
You love aren’t with you.
The tree looks smaller
When you stand next to it alone,
The lights don’t seem
As festive as they once were
The 25th looks like
Just another day on the calendar.
Maybe its the fact that the pandemic
Isn’t over
Maybe its because no one else
Will be there on Christmas morning
To say ‘Merry Christmas’ to.
The decorations are up
The carols are are being sung
But the’ jingle bells, jingle’
That once signalled the rabid joy
For the entire festive season
Don’t seem be going all the way.
