A coin in His pocket

We are not expansive enough
To know how significant
Our lives are going to be in the end.
Maybe we will be celebrated
And our efforts will have counted
For generations to come,
Maybe our work will be credited
To another,
Maybe we will be cancelled posthumously
Maybe no will remember us.
Either way, we won’t be there
To make a better case for
The life we chose to live-
We just won’t be there.
But He will be.
And His Hand stretches longer
Than time itself.
It follows then,
That a life well lived
Is one spent
Like a coin His pocket-
Ready and available
For it greatest use.

LORD, I am just a coin in Your pocket, spend me however you please
