One day I won’t take myself so seriously.
I’ll know the difference between a bad day
And a bad life,
I’ll enjoy the freedom
That comes from
No longer striving.
I’ll have ‘’won’’enough arguments
To know there are no trophies there,
Tasted enough of God’s grace
To be fully convinced of it
Bored enough people
With long-winded speeches
To learn that listening is far more valuable
And stopped waiting for
Things to be perfect
Before enjoying my life.
It turns out,
If you’re patient
The long arc of life
Bends towards peace with yourself
If you let it.
