Agenda

Not all of us have an agenda.
Contrary to what was
Expected of her
She did not have
A well calculated reason
For every step
A motive for every action
As though every act would all
Tally up one day
So she could claim
What she’d been after all along.
For her it was different.
She had no agenda.
She was just responding
To love.
She’d learned to stop running
Stop compensating
Stopped trying to prove a point.
When we are deeply loved
And we know it the ways
That matter most
We don’t need reasons
For loving others.
We simply do.
