We stumble
We fall and break
We stutter
We choke
Anxiety holds our eyelids open
Forbidding sleep to commune with us.
Walking with God
Is to become increasingly aware of how far
We’ve fallen
And then to see firsthand how deep He dives
To come get us.
The act of following God
Is not one of perfect practice,
Demanding external performances
From an unchanged heart.
He does not want to be appeased,
But loved.
The path towards the Son
Begins in darkness
But ends in glory.
The path of the righteous
Is like the first gleam of dawn,
Shining ever brighter
Til the full light of day
